Verbal Consultations

We offer a 1/2 hour free telephone consultation when you first call that is designed to assess your needs. After you describe to us your particular situation, we will discuss with you the services we provide to meet those needs. If you decide you want us to come out, then we schedule an onsite appointment for a consultation that is designed specifically for your situation.

Our onsight consultations give you the assurance and peace of mind that all items in your estate have been checked by a professional. A verbal consultation is not an appraisal in that valuations are based upon the appraiser's experience only. Client's will be notified when a particular item in the consultation needs to be researched before a value can be given.

We currently provide three types of verbal consultations:
1. Consultations for Trustees and Heirs in an Estate
2. Verbal Approximations of Value
3. Household Downsizing of Antiques, Art & Residential Contents

During the consultation the appraiser will examine, evaluate, and express an informed opinion concerning value, condition, desirability, marketability, etc. At the end of the consultation you are provided
with a booklet of available resources in your area to assist you with the distribution or liquidation of your items. We discuss with you the appropriate venues from local to international for each item you designate considering always your particular situation, needs and circumstances.

Consultations for Trustees and Heirs in an Estate

Bosch Appraisal and Estate Services provides verbal consultations for heirs, executors, trustees and family members who need to know the market and potential value of items in an estate, but who do not require a written appraisal. This consultation provides a walk through review of personal property in an estate PRIOR to distribution to heirs or liquidation, with the emphasis on identification of objects of value
and the equalization of value amongst the heirs. We will also assist
you with the liquidation process for remaining items not taken by
the heirs.

We will also oversee the actual distribution of property to heirs, if you
wish our assistance in this area. We come onsite and conduct the distribution using a process we outline to you in advance. This process
helps families distribute inherited items equitably amongst themselves
and assists in avoiding family strife at an often difficult time.

Verbal Approximations of Value

For Trustees and Heirs in charge of distributing estate non-appreciating personal property, we offer a Verbal Approximation of Value when a written appraisal report is not needed. Non-appreciating items are considered to be regular household goods that are not antique or collectible. Research is always conducted on fine antiques and fine art prior to giving verbal values and a client is notified by the appraiser if research is necessary for a specific item.

A Verbal Approximation of Value allows our clients to financially equalize the distribution of inherited personal property between heirs. The assurance of fairness achieved by the assignation of value by a professional appraiser PRIOR to distribution assures that each heir feels they have received their fair share. This helps keep family relationships intact at a very difficult time following the death of a family member.

Household Triage - Consultations for Household Downsizing of Antiques, Art & Residential Contents

Increasingly we have calls from people who are downsizing and want to know how to sell valuable items, but do not know how or where to sell them or what they are worth. During our consultation we triage your items and give you our personal recommendation for the best place to sell each item or group of items.

This consultation provides invaluable information and guidance from our many years assisting clients to help you liquidate each item at the most appropriate venue for that item.
